My name is Vilma Vicente. I am a Portuguese artist, born in Lisbon and currently based in Sagres, Algarve.
My work is deeply connected to the ocean, a constant source of inspiration, movement, and emotion in my life. My passion for free diving and surfing has shaped the way I experience the sea, allowing me to feel its fluidity, power, and serenity from within. Through my art, I try to transform those sensations, memories, and movements into vibrant and emotional pieces.
After my studies at the University of Fine Arts in Lisbon, my artistic journey truly flourished years later in the Algarve. Surrounded by the wild coastline, natural beauty, and energy of the Atlantic, I found endless inspiration and a deeper connection to my creative voice.
This is where I embraced mixed media and fluid art techniques as my main forms of expression. I love exploring different materials, colours, and textures, creating pieces that reflect spontaneity, freedom, and the depth of the marine world.
Fluid art is one of my favourite techniques because it reflects my sensory and spontaneous nature. It allows me to dive into a world of colours and shapes, making each piece a unique reflection of my inner world.
Through my work, I hope to bring a little of the ocean’s energy, peace, and movement into your home.
